Is the image of Seleucus I Nicator correct?

[edit]

You uploaded Image:Seleukos nikator.jpg. And it is being used in the article Seleucus I Nicator with the caption "bust of Seleucus I Nicator" The image file says that the image is from http://www.livius.org/l but following that link gives a different picture labeled as "Seleucus I Nicator". Also, this image looks like a picture of the same bust which is labeled here as "Bust of Attalus I, circa 200 BCE from [1] ". Can help resolve this problem? Thanks. Hi there,

Good work on kings of Croatia! Just one thing you got wrong... Verb "to resign" means to give up, to relinquish, and verb "to reign" means to rule. I fixed your error, I'm just informing you so you know for future application. --Dijxtra 10:47, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really understand the necessity of that move. There were two Prijezdas (the 1st and the 2nd); but isn't it obvious that the Prijezda without the suphix was actually Prijezda Ist? Should we move it back? --HolyRomanEmperor 14:32, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hej! pozdrav!

Što se tiče stranice History of Bosnia and Herzegovina...Idi na Talk:History of Bosnia and Herzegovina ak ti nije problem za raspravu o dijeljenju stranice (37. Separate articles). pozdrav! Image Tagging Image:Pericles1.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Pericles1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Re: title

[edit]

Dakle, slijedeci kraljevi bosne ce svi nositi razlicite titule: Stijepan Tomas: Kralj Srba, Bosne, Primorja, Humske zemlje, Donjih Kraja, Usore, Soli, Podrinja i Zapadnih strana, Stijepan Tvrtko II: Kralj Srba, Bosne, Primorja i Humske zemlje... itd... No - svima ostaje "Kralj Bosne i Srbije" karakteristicno od Tvrtka skroz do pada Bosne. --HolyRomanEmperor 19:08, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No - najkraca forma je "Kralj Bosne i Srbije".

I naravno da treba uvrstiti Stjepana Tvrtka I kao hrvatskoga vladara na List of rulers of Croatia. Bog! --HolyRomanEmperor 19:24, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Drebbel cover.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 00:14, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Timur statue in Samarkand/Tashkent

[edit]

The photo on the Samarkand page features a photo of a statue of Timur. The photo, however, is of a statue in Tashkent. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Demetrius poliorcetes.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Ade Capone. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ade Capone has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:38, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Himilco (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Page not needed as only two entries.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
